Dear friends,

We are now less than a week away from the start of our 40th Anniversary Celebration. This afternoon I will be heading to East Texas for pre-event scouting and to check on the progress of spring migration on the Upper Coast. Before I leave, I want to share with you the exciting news of a brand new discount opportunity on our upcoming Galapagos Islands Cruise.

Due to some very recent cancellations, we have two cabins available on our upcoming Galapagos Islands Cruise, July 8-17, 2016. Because those who cancelled incurred penalties, we can offer these newly available cabins at a discount of $1,000 per person in double occupancy plus FREE ROUNDTRIP AIRFARE (economy class) from your home. These cabins normally sell for $7,995 per person in double occupancy. This fee includes the cost of the internal flight from Quito to the Galapagos. With the discount, the fee is $6,995 per person in double occupancy; single supplement is $2,000. The total value of the discount/free airfare package is approximately $2,000! To take advantage of this offer, you will need to pay one-half of the cruise fee upon registration and the other half by January 15, 2017. These two cabins will be available on a first-come basis.

This cruise will be aboard the 32-passenger M/V Evolution, one of the best ships for cruising the Galapagos. Not too large and not too small, this vessel offers comfort and stability while preserving the intimacy of a small-group experience. Our itinerary visits most of the major islands while offering the chance to see most of the special birds including Waved Albatross, Galapagos Penguin, Flightless Cormorant, Galapagos finches, Galapagos mockingbirds, and much more, in addition to the islands’ other signature wildlife such as Marine Iguana, Land Iguana, Galapagos Tortoise, and Galapagos Fur Seal. In particular, I want to emphasize that July is one of the best times to visit the Galapagos since the Waved Albatross will be present and will be engaged in fascinating and spectacular courtship displays. Also, there will be opportunities for snorkeling.

Leading this cruise will be David Wolf, one of our most experienced and knowledgeable leaders. After a recent trip to Costa Rica with David, tour participant Gail Williams wrote, “David was outstanding in all aspects. I was especially impressed with his sensitivity to the desires and needs of group members, his ability to find birds and show them to the group, his enthusiasm and eagerness to share knowledge, and his people skills.”
