Dear friends:

On Tuesday, April 11, my colleague Barry Lyon and I will host a free webinar, the latest in our series of webinars in collaboration with Zegrahm Expeditions, in which we’ll discuss VENT’s upcoming cruise to Wild & Ancient Britain with Ireland, May 9-24, 2018.

For this special trip, we’ll travel aboard the lovely Ocean Adventurer, voyaging from the south of England to the tip of Scotland as we explore the natural history and cultural riches of the British Isles.

Designed for birders and those with an interest in history, culture, and sightseeing, we’ll trace a route to a number of legendary ports, islands, and archipelagos including Falmouth, the Isles of Scilly, Isle of Man, the Hebrides, St. Kilda, the Orkneys, Shetlands, Fair Isle, and Aberdeen. Birders and nature enthusiasts will thrill to visiting some of the most important seabird breeding grounds in the Atlantic, to islands covered with colonies of shearwaters, storm-petrels, gannets, guillemots, murres, puffins, and more, while shore excursions bring opportunities to sight a fine variety of waterfowl, shorebirds, and landbirds. Time ashore includes options for visits to superb historical and cultural attractions including botanical gardens, World Heritage Site monasteries, a world-famous Scotch distillery, and visits to the famous archaeological sites of Maeshowe, the Standing Stones of Stenness, and the Ring of Brodgar. This trip will be led by VENT leader Andrew Whittaker who possesses years of experience guiding tours in this part of the world.

To register for the free webinar, please see the invitation that follows.

Best wishes,

Victor Emanuel
