The Galapagos Islands:
Aboard the National Geographic Islander
A trip to the Galapagos Islands is like no other, for it involves total immersion into the natural history of one of the world’s elite travel destinations. It is one of the unique places on earth where the wildlife is abundant, approachable, and utterly unafraid of humans. The Galapagos tortoise is the classic symbol of the islands, but the seabird colonies, marine iguanas, sea lions, and fish are equally captivating.

Thousands of people from all over the world visit the Galapagos annually to experience the wildlife spectacles, to walk in the footsteps of Darwin, and to enjoy this remarkable form of tropical paradise. Among the 19 species of seabirds occurring here is the world’s northernmost penguin, the only equatorial albatross, the strange flightless cormorant, and one of the world’s rarest gulls. Outstanding among the landbirds are, of course, the famous Darwin’s finches.
The best way, the only way, to really see the Galapagos is by ship, and we are very excited to offer a wonderful opportunity to cruise these islands aboard the National Geographic Islander, chartered through Lindblad Expeditions exclusively for VENT. The beautifully appointed Islander is well-suited for plying waters where larger ships cannot go, and its fleet of Zodiacs guarantees even closer access to the wildlife.
In addition to the legendary natural history of the islands, participants will enjoy a true tropical paradise. Awaiting the visitor are glorious sunrises and spectacular sunsets, relaxing strolls on white and black sand beaches, fascinating snorkeling in warm equatorial waters, and outdoor dinners under moonlit skies and the stately Southern Cross. This voyage to the Galapagos promises a remarkable and exhilarating travel experience, and though your time among the natural wonders may seem all too brief, your memories and photos will last a lifetime.
The Islander’s outstanding staff of onboard leaders and naturalists will be complemented by an excellent team of VENT leaders that includes Victor Emanuel, Barry Lyon, Michael O’Brien, and Louise Zemaitis.
Cabins for our Galapagos Islands Cruise begin at $5,995 per person in double occupancy from Quito.
